About Us

Our Story

One of the best ways to describe our farm is as a friendly, homegrown family farm. In 1975, Jerry and Vyanne Chandler bought a grain farm in Fillmore, Indiana and converted it into an orchard. The farm had a very meager start; the 1st trees where grafted by hand in 1975 and then planted in the orchard in 1976 with just 230 trees and some basic farm equipment.  After over 37 years of hard work and the help of parents Elmer and Marguerite, and oldest son Matt and his wife Lisa,  Jerry Chandler turned this family owned and operated orchard into what it is now- 52 acres of land, 17 of which are dedicated entirely to apples. At one time, the orchard was home to over 250 varieties of apples.

The orchard has a beautiful country store located on US 40 run by Jerry’s sister, and a second farm owned by Matt Chandler, about six miles down the road. Matt, his wife Lisa, and children Elijah, Cort, and Noelle, are proud to spend their time helping out on the farm our family proudly built.

The highlight of our family farm is our apples. Matt, his father Jerry, and Grandfather Elmer are three generations of men with experience growing apples. Our farm not only raises and sells apples, but we also offer our own raspberries, pears, tomatoes, sweet corn, honey, and other locally grown produce.
